Eugene Rajaratnam, MD, FACS
Co-Founder & Medical Director
Board-certified in urology and anti-aging & regenerative medicine
Dr. Eugene C. Rajaratnam, also known as Dr. Raj, is board-certified in urology as well as anti-aging and regenerative medicine. Inspired by the positive impact healthy living has on patients’ overall wellbeing and quality of life, he founded the California Wellness Institute as a place where patients can receive health and wellness support that is personalized to their unique needs.
He earned a medical degree from Stanley Medical College in Chennai, India, before moving to New York City where he completed an internship at Coney Island Hospital, a general surgical residency at Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center, and urology training at Maimonides Medical Center. After 10 years in New York, Dr. Raj moved to California where he established a very successful urological practice.
Having cared for thousands of patients, Dr. Raj began to recognize that much of modern medical practice is reactive and focused on medications or surgeries rather than wellness. Looking to broaden his knowledge of preventive and restorative medicine, he completed additional training in anti-aging medicine through and achieved board certification from the American Academy of Anti-Aging and Regenerative Medicine (A4M) in 2007.
He continues to provide urological care in Palm Desert, Lancaster, Ridgecrest and Tehachapi as well as serve as the medical director of the California Wellness Institute. Here, Dr. Raj combines his experience in traditional medicine with his knowledge of holistic medicine to help patients age healthfully and avoid some of the ailments that are all too common in older adults.
In addition to being a skilled physician, Dr. Raj is an avid airplane and helicopter pilot, photographer and video producer. He also dedicates his time to the Rajaratnam Foundation, a nonprofit he founded that helps underprivileged children in the Antelope Valley achieve their dreams. One of his current projects is a television program about health and wellness called “Life and How to Live it.”
